Knit???

I can knit, not that I really do very often. I do once in a while just so I remember. I don't like to because I think it goes so much slower. So with my scrap yarn I just finished this knitted dishcloth from a pattern I found online. I have never actually completed a knit project before so for this practice session I had to find something easy. Knit, Purl anyone? Not for me again for a while. Find me my crochet hook quick.

Dishclothes

I have a bunch of scrap cotton so I designed these fun dishclothes. I think they turned out cute. I do have some other ones that I have made and we do use them in the house. These are most recent ones I just finished.

This is not my design, I subscribe to Crochet World and this pattern was in it. I loved it. I had to order the yarn for it online because I wanted it to be specific to the pattern. It is a casserole cozy and it was really fun to make.

My Hobby

I have been crocheting many years(about 26) my best friend in High School taught me how to do it (her grandmother taught her). I haven't looked back since. Over the years I have learned many new stitches from that first granny square I learned so many years ago. I have a mulititude of books, pamphlets, and patterns at home. I have made many baby blankets for gifts and I have made baby blankets for my daughter(who is 20 now) and my son(3). Just in the past couple of years I have branched out from the blankets and designed my own sweaters and sweaters for my son, play food, purses and other things.. People tell me all the time"I don't have time to do that" Well sometimes I don't either, but I always find the time for what I love to do. I am in Halloween mode at the momemt and I am designing and making trick or treat bags for my son. I am almost finished with the first one and I have started the second one which will be smaller. The first one is long and would be better for him when he is older. I will get the pictures on here has soon as they are finished. I decided to create this site to share my love of this somewhat fading art. At least around here. I can't seem to find anywhere anymore carrying a large quantity of yarn. It is scattered and it seems like shelves are getting smaller and less choice then even 10 years ago. I have to go online sometimes for what I want. OH well. It won't stop me from crocheting. Maybe one day I can live my dream of having my own store with yarn and projects and re-awaken this wonderful craft.

My Trendy Colored Crocheted Pillows.

These were so fun to design. I designed these crocheted pillows for a couple of teenage girls who I think really enjoyed them. Fur is so hard to crochet with so I combine it with a purple worsted weight yarn and it made it much easier. I haven't made these for a while but they were fun.

Another Blanket for my Son

This one I did not design someone gave me a partially made one and asked if I could finish it then I could keep it. So I finished it and gave it to my son. I love the colors and the crocheted pattern.

My Son's Crocheted Afghan

I designed this crocheted afghan for my son using the Caron Simply Soft yarn. I love it. It is my favorite yarn to crochet with. I am very pleased to say that my son loves to sleep with this blanket too.

My Fun, Quirky Crocheted Afghan

This is a very heavy, thick and just plain fun blanket I designed and crocheted. It did take a long time it is double stranded.

I am working on one for my husband and keep putting it aside. I will get it done for him before the cold weather gets here. Just ignore the dirty laundry in the background. But you can see my Fiona peeking in from the upper right corner.

My Crocheted Sugar Cookie purse

This purse's frosting opens up as a pocket. I gave this one to a little girl for her fourth birthday. She loved it. This is my own design. It was to go along with the theme with making my crocheted sugar cookies. Which I gave her some of those to play with also for her birthday.
